Greetings judo fans. I’m glad and thankful that you found this blog. I created judofan.com to contribute to the growth of judo and also satisfy my hunger for a community that enables other judo enthusiasts to discuss, learn and participate in all things related to judo.
When I lived in the United States, it wasn’t uncommon to be standing in a line at a supermarket or gas station and being able to randomly discuss sports like football, basketball and baseball with people who were at least moderately knowledgable about the sport. These days, I find that even in Japan, the general public has a limited understanding of judo and that has left me wishing for a place that could foster deeper discussion about the art that I love.
I also hope that this endeavor will contribute to Kano’s vision using judo to promote mutual benefit and welfare (jita kyoei) and that this site could be a resource to aid you in some way as you also pursue excellence in various facets of judo and in life. I’m looking forward to connecting with you here and looking forward to your participation. Thank you so much for stopping by!
